How to apply to helpBecome a Volunteer

We need your help to make our vision of litter and pollution free Scottish coastline a reality. You can get involved as much as you like and support us in a variety of ways depending on what appeals to you.

On the beach

Once we have identified litter hot spots from the aerial photos, we need your help to clean up the beach. This will be part of the national Marine Conservation Society beach cleaning and litter surveying programme called Beachwatch

Some of our best-loved marine wildlife is under threat from the waste and litter in our seas, with hundreds of species accidentally eating or becoming entangled in litter. It's also dangerous for people and damaging to our tourism and fishing industries. We all have a part to play in turning the tide on litter. Join an event or organise your own and be part of the most influential fight against marine litter in the UK!

Please contact us to register your interest and find out more.

On the sea

If you have a kayak, a RIB or a boat and would like to help this project then it would be very helpful if you could access harder to reach beaches and parts of the coastline to carry out beach cleans.

Please contact us to register your interest and find out more.

In the air

This project would not be possible without the support of an experienced fleet of volunteer pilots who are identifying and recording litter and pollution on the Scottish coastline.

If you are a pilot interested in volunteering on this project please contact us to register your interest and find out more.

By volunteering for SCRAPbook you will become a Sea Champion. Sea Champions is the Marine Conservation Society volunteer programme which provides opportunities for everyone to get involved in helping to secure the future for our seas.
